Treat yourself to an exciting art adventure while basking in the brilliant colors of Guanajuato, considered the jewel of the Mexican colonial cities. Our small group will stay at a charming B&B located in the heart of Guanajuato, and master printmaker Hugo Anaya will greet us and guide us through the weekend workshop.

Master printmaker: Hugo Anya in his Guanajuato Studio

We’ll arrive Friday at noon and spend the afternoon exploring Guanajuato, meeting for a rooftop cocktail reception at our hotel, followed by dinner. Saturday morning will start with a very cheery rooftop breakfast, then we’ll make our way to the art studio and hunker down into learning monolith printing, with an opportunity to experiment with some mixed media printmaking. Saturday night will be another special dinner, and Sunday morning we’ll finish our workshop projects and have time to discuss what we’ve learned.

Guanajuato is only 75 minutes away from San Miguel de Allende, but it’s university and musical backbone give it a much different feel, some say tres European! Don’t miss this wonderful opportunity to see Guanajuato and learn printmaking from a skilled local printmaker.

Hugo Anaya is a Guanajuato Local, but studied his craft and lived in Portland, Oregon for over a decade. His work has been featured in many galleries in San Miguel de Allende, across Mexico and in the United States. His large studio in Guanajuato can accommodate 8 people, and he looks forward to welcoming our vibrant group — he makes learning fun! No experience necessary, just bring your awesomely curious mind.
